CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS Libre Software Meeting 2005 --------------------------------------------- Operating system design and development The Libre Software Meeting (LSM) is organised every year since 2000 by the Free Software community in France [0]. This year, the meeting will take place from July 5th to July 9th in Dijon, to the East of France. The Libre Software Meeting aims at allowing designers/developers of free softwares [1] from the whole world to come present their works and share their ideas, but is also the occasion to discuss societal issues. Technical conferences cover a wide range of topics, ranging from high-level programming languages to databases, through security concerns. The "operating system design and development" topic is looking for speakers who'd like to come and present their free software projects. More specifically, projects concerning the following domains: * design and development of operating systems : architecture, services, libraries, high-level languages in operating system, dynamic configuration, etc. ; * subsystems implementation : schedulers, I/O schedulers, virtual memory management, etc. ; * filesystem implementation : journalized, distributed filesystems, etc. ; * realtime extensions for free operating systems ; * virtualization tools (i.e Xen, User-Mode-Linux, etc.) ; * kernel development tools : debuggers, performance evaluation, etc. ; * embedded systems development. Programs of previous years are available on-line [2]. The volunteers to contact are Thomas Petazzoni and Ludovic Courtès before June 2005. The speakers are encouraged to provide a small paper (6 to 12 A4 sheets) summing up their presentation (in an open format such as PostScript or PDF). Ludovic Courtès and Thomas Petazzoni.
